EP MedSystems Sponsors Heart Rhythm Society
Symposium May 4, 2005

WEST BERLIN, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 2, 2005--EP MedSystems, Inc. (NASDAQ: EPMD - News), announced today that it will sponsor a symposium on May 4th, 2005 in conjunction with this week's Heart Rhythm Society's Heart Rhythm 2005 Conference. The Symposium is entitled "Novel Technologies in the International Electrophysiology Laboratory: State-of-the-Art 2005". This symposium will focus on several new technologies that are being developed for second-generation interventional electrophysiology laboratories.

The technologies presented at the symposium spotlight two areas of interest. First, intracardiac echocardiography, which continues to be an important component of interventional electrophysiologic procedures, has more recently been used in cardiac pacing procedures. Secondly, three dimensional physiologic mapping and navigation now permits complex ablation procedures, including atrial fibrillation interventions. While new stimulation modes and catheters based defibrillation have become necessary during these procedures to facilitate diagnosis and confirm treatment. These new technologies have provided the clinical practitioner with new capabilities in the laboratory during a wide array of procedures.

This symposium will highlight the major technologic developments, essentials of imaging using these novel technologies, interpretation of these images and clinical applications using a wide array of interventional EP procedures. The program features international leaders in the fields of intracardiac echocardiography imaging, mapping and interventional electrophysiologic therapies. Didactic lecturers are supplemented by a moderated panel discussion and questions-and-answer periods.

The symposium's director is Sanjeev Saksena, MD, Clinical Professor of Medicine, Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. The Symposium's faculty will also include: John Hummel, MD, FACC, Attending Electrophysiologist, Riverside Medical Center; Jonathan Kalman, MD, MRCP, Assistant Professor of Medicine, Royal Melbourne Hospital; Bradley Knight, MD, FACC, Assistant Professor of Medicine, University of Chicago; Luc Jordaens, MD FESC, Professor of Cardiology, University of Rotterdam; Andrea Natale, MD, FACC, Professor of Medicine, Cleveland Clinical School of Medicine; Hugh Calkins, Professor of Medicine and Pediatrics, John Hopkins University School of Medicine and Director of Electrophysiology Laboratory & Arrhythmia Service, D avid Haines, Director, Heart Rhythm Center, William Beaumont Hospital; Fred Kusumoto, Senior Associate Consultant, Division of Cardiovascular Diseases, Department of Internal Medicine, Mayo Clinic, Benjamin Scherlag, George Lynn Cross Research Professor, Helen Webster Professor of Cardiac Arrhythmia, Professor of Medicine, Cardiac Arrhythmia Research Institute, University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center.
